Lake Vermilion is uniquely situated in the Trails system being at the crossroads of two major trails --- the Taconite that runs from Grand Rapids to Ely, and the Arrowhead that runs from International Falls down to Lake Vermilion where it intersects with the Taconite.

In addition, we have spur trails that will lead you into the wilderness of the Iron Range Country. All the trails are well marked to help you find your way as you explore over 2700 miles of interconnecting trailways . . .one of the finest systems in the country.
